Hardware Decoding
Vista Player uses VideoToolbox and Metal for hardware-accelerated video decoding. Hardware decoding is available for H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 on supported Macs.
- H.264 — Supported on all Intel and Apple Silicon Macs
- H.265 / HEVC — Hardware decoding on Macs with HEVC decode support
- AV1 — Hardware decoding on Macs with AV1 decode support (M3 and later)
